Who
We Are:
The
Interfaith Housing Assistance Corporation (IHAC) of Chester
County has as its purpose the prevention and/or the end of homelessness
among single parents with dependent children in Chester County.
It
is our goal to provide financial assistance, social service
and mentoring support, enabling families to remain in clean,
safe, affordable housing while they work towards independence.
The
Interfaith Housing Assistance Corporation is a non-profit corporation
with a board of directors made up of representatives from churches,
social agencies and businesses in Chester County.
What We Do:
We
provide financial assistance to house clients in appropriate
residences for which they will assume full responsibility within
a specified period.
We
develop a plan of action for each client, including plans to
address educational, vocational, family and other needs.
We
monitor each client's progress toward independence.
We
provide a support system of mentors for each client.
We
involve churches and other community organizations in the work
of IHAC.
We
educate the public as to the needs of single parents and their
dependent children.
